greetings strangers, it's been a while! sorry we haven't been very talkative lately, but at least we've been busy.
~our new split 7" with gardenbox and total fucking destruction is finally done, and is available on our merch page now (white vinyl!). thanks to dan mccarthy for the incredible art, and interrobang letterpress for the lovely packaging!! our song on the split is called "wood veins", and it features the amazing dana colley (morphine, twinemen, a.k.a.c.o.d.) on electricbaritonesaxophone.
~at long last...we've finished our new full length!! we mixed it last week at the red room in seattle with matt bayles (minus the bear, isis, mastodon, whew!). needless to say we're very excited to have matt involved in our project. the record will include a bonus ep of cover songs. we'll be mastering it all in the next month or so and are hoping to get it out in the spring...

~happy spring! we’ve been a bit lax with updates lately, however we have been keeping very busy. we've been working on a new record with our dear friend andy hong (you may know him as the gear editor of tape op magazine). with any luck we should finish it up over the summer. see some fun pictures from the studio on our myspace page.
~also, we're happy to be part of a 3 band split 7" with two of our favorite bands, gardenbox (from athens, greece) and total fucking destruction (from philadelphia). fancy packaging will be hand printed at interrobang letterpress, and it will feature art by the amazing dan mccarthy of helms. it should come out over the summer...

~we're still tired, but we gotta say this was one of the most fun tours ever. not only were both of the bands completely amazing musically (nothing better than two bands you can watch night after night, and love the last minute as much as the first), but we fell in love with everybody, old friends and new. big love to minus the bear, annuals, dave lathrop, wendy, amy, niles, buddha, fuzzy and jay. big ups to cory and erin from mtb for rocking with us! last but not least, thanks to all the people who came out to the shows. we miss you all and look forward to seeing you soon!!! ps. tons of fun tour pix up on our myspace photos page....

~we’ve added one show to our fall tour (in between minus the bear shows): we'll be playing nov. 6 at the beta bar in tallahassee.

~we’re very excited to announce that we'll be joining the wonderful and amazing minus the bear for the southern leg of their upcoming u.s. tour!!! we're playing shows from ft. lauderdale florida on november 3, through tempe arizona on november 13. we can't wait!!!!!

~it's been a crazy few months!! thanks so much to our dear comrades in isis and minus the bear for taking us on tour, we had a truly amazing time. as if that wasn't enough, it was extra special seeing so many of our other wonderful friends on both sides of the atlantic...we hope to see you again soon!!

~hooray for tour! our fall tour dates are all confirmed and you can check them out on our shows page. we're honored to be opening up for isis in november in north america, and minus the bear in december in the u.k. ...we can't wait!!

~we're excited to announce that our dear friend greg moss has joined 27, playing bass...we're very happy to have him along. yay greg! we'll have some new pix up soon so you can see how cute he is...
~we're playing our first show with the new line-up at the middle east in cambridge on sept 23, and a lo-fi day show at the maple farm sanctuary on oct 21. details are on our shows page. we're also finalizing our fall tour plans, dates to be posted soon...

~relapse records is releasing our latest cd 'holding on for brighter days' in the u.s. on june 26. we will have it available for sale on our merch page around that time. we're especially honored that relapse japan will also be releasing it japan!
~we're working on vinyl versions of '...brighter days' for both the u.s. and the u.k., more on that soon...

 

18 JANUARY 2007
~our full length cd 'holding on for brighter days' will be released in the u.s. on relapse records this spring. it will have a slightly different track listing than the u.k. version, and will have all new art. we love relapse!
~our close friend mike malone (who contributed guitar tracks to two songs on 'holding on for brighter days') has put up a site for his musical alter ego orb mellon. we love orb!

~since the u.k. pressing of 'animal life' has been out of stock for a while, our good friends at ethical wares / four dogs music have made the u.s. pressing available in the u.k.

~our new 7" a million years/bitter blue is now available on our merch page ...we have 2 vinyl color combinations: blue with grey, and green with yellow. the 7" will be available at relapse tomorrow, not sure what colors they'll have...?

~we're home from tour, we had an amazing time!! thanks to our old friends in the czech republic, and our new friends in portugal, for making our trip such a blast. we're finishing up our 7" for relapse this weekend, it should be out in around a month or so...

~maria has contributed vocals to the song "seconds later (they suddenly die)" on the new record "black heart blues" by our dear friends 3 stages of pain (uk). it's available now at undergroove

~the new issue of rocksound magazine features a free comp cd including a new track called 'windows and glass', as well as a full page interview with maria.
